Anyone make decent T3 Manifolds anymore?

Good to hear, Mike. Gives me time to see what I can do with the new engine and Big16g before I upgrade.

Got any previews of manifold designs?

After the holidays I will gladly post some pictures to preview.

You will go far on the big 16g, just spend some time with it!

well after hearing all the crap about tubular manifolds on dsms cracking because of the constant heat cycles they're put through on daily driving routines, i'd rather get a cast than tubular.

I have built approximately 100 manifolds over the last two years or so. Not one crack yet. I probably just jinxed myself saying that. If they are built right they will not crack, but you are not going to see them at K-mart in the blue light special section either.

You had better tell Shep that he needs to ditch Shearer's manifold and switch to a Metal Man. :thumb:

I did not build Shep's manifold. Brian @ FP constructed it, he did a mighty fine job too.

Why don't you call up Mr. Shearer and ask him if his manifolds crack instead of believing what you heard? I still find it amazing how cheap so many of you all are when it comes to wanting a tubular manifold but yet continually bi*** when the cheap manifold you find turns out to be a POS.

I agree, I would get a shearer manifold. You wouldn't regret it one bit.

Road Race Engineering has one-http://www.roadraceengineering.com/eclturbos.htm It looks like the turbonetics one, for 400 bucks.

That is the turbonetics manifold you can see the T engraved on the right side. I do wish more companies made T3 manifolds flanged for a 38mm wastegate. Now DNP uses 40mm on their T3. I would also like to see a few ram horn designed manifolds as they are some of the best manifold designs out there as far as "perfect" flow characteristics.

Are there any companies out there that sell decent reputable T3 exhaust manifolds that DONT cost an arm and a leg anymore? I know that DNP sells them, but $600 for a manifold is quite rediculous.

I know that the majority of the DSM crowd is all about going fast for cheap, but come on! The Honda boys are spending over $1000 for their manifolds and making big numbers.

I guess we're just spoiled from buying a used 2G mani for $100 and hogging it out. :tease:

the dsm community is used to cheap stuff because most of the stuff for our cars is easily made (minus good intercoolers and engine internals). I would rather just not have a tubular manifold that will wind up breaking from daily driving.

This is my kinetic T3 manifold with 40mm wg provision. I've never actually seen any other tubular manifolds to compare to, but I dont really forsee any problems with this one. The flanges are very thick, and the welds are very nice. There is no roughness in the collectors or where the flange is welded either.

I haven't installed it yet, so no performance reviews....

Cost me 588 shipped. I decided to spend some extra money and go full t3 this year. I'm sick of the mitsu bolt-on crap. My turbo of choice is a gt3082r.

Broken,

I appreciate the images, but i'm not looking for tubular. I DO NOT WANT A TUBULAR SS MANIFOLD! It's not that i dont like the way they look. It's that this car is my daily driver, and by that i mean DAILY. Have to get to work and school every day, and i dont want to have to deal with someone else's slap a$$ job at welding a manifold with nickel rod rather than stainless to save a few bucks and i wind up paying for it with a cracked manifold from the heat cycles.

Go with a FullRace manifold then. Those things dont crack and make crazy power on smaller honda motors.

Also I was wondering how much different are the EVO 8 manifolds that every one is making these days? Anyway to mod them to fit? I was told they would fit then I was told they wont.

just trying to help here,
Josh

To let you know, I believe, we are the only vendor to produce a tubular exhaust manifold that hooks directly up to your existing downpipe. Most everyone else you're going to need a custom set up. Yes, you must use our O2 housing. Quality is awesome and the manifold is guaranteed for life of the original owner.

Scott

SBR offers a dnp t3 manifold + ss o2 housing + tial 38mm recirculated for $1100. Cheaper than any individual manifold, o2, wastegate setups by at least $150.

Are there downsides to that setup I'm not seeing? Seems pretty good...

wouldn't be able to use it with my current downpipe as it's flanged with a 3" 3-bolt

Thus why i'm looking for a mani with the gate on it, so that i can modify my current O2 to fit the 4 bolt T3 or the 3" t-bolt.

so why not going for turbonetics T3 mani ?

Because just like his assumptions about tubular manifolds he has assumptions about the t-netics cast manifold. I have the turbonetics cast and I made 402whp without touching the manifold other than bolting it to my car. My buddy makes 512awhp with a completely unmolested turbonetics manifold, another friend ran 11.1's all day long without touching his manifold as well. I don't see how those numbers show that the turbonetics "has to be ported to flow properly."

I would go with Shearer

My buddy has his custom top mount for a GT42R in his 2G.

We just got it running and it works well!

just playing around we got 10psi at 4500 to 4700 and it just wants to sky rocket from there! Trust me with a 42R that is really good.

I can get my hands on some T3 ad plates, PM me if you know or would like to know were to get them.

Honda guys pay well over 1,000 dollers for there all motor headers"

Honda guys dont mind dropping the cash were its needed, they make some big power on the FullRace manifolds.

And just to let everyone know, all these shops Shear, fullrace,AMS, and who ever esle makes manifolds will custom make you anything, just because its not listed doesnt mean they wont make it.
