Ok well I have one of those Manual cd's I bought off of ebay for like five bucks. I looked at it once when I got it then I put it away. Well today I took it out and I noticed there is a program called CAPS on there. Stands for computerized automatic parts search. Well I installed it and can't figure out how to use it or what good it does. Anyone have any experience with this program? What can I do with it? I had the intentions of typing in a part number from a dsm ecu and be able to tell if it was from a cali car, auto, 90 or 91-94, etc. Can I do that with this program? Thanks, Kevin.

Yeah. I have a version 3.41 and you can type in the part number. Then you can click on the icon with a little bolt on it (sixth one from the right) and it'll give you a listing of the cars that it'll work with. It'll be in the format that darksyne listed from the readme though.

I installed it on my computer with xp but it doesn't seem to be working right. I followed the instructions but I keep getting error messages and stuff so it doesn't look like it's workin right.

ok ive got the latest version downloaded and installed and everything went smooth but when i try to open it i get a

"the system file is not suitable for running ms-dos and microsoft windows applications. choose the close to terminate the application"

now wtf is this cra and how do i fix it??
thanks.

I just purchased the CD and am experiencing the same "system file is not suitable for running ms-dos and microsoft windows applications" when running it on my XP computer. I found the remedy for this after searching that exact phrase on yahoo.

Try this:

Background: Wanting to upgrade to the latest version of AVG, I decided to first uninstall the old version. When running the AVG uninstall procedure I received the error message:

C:\WINNT\System32\Autoexec.nt The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application.

Resolution Steps: Apparently this error message, or a similar one mentioning config.nt, can occur when one of the following files is missing or corrupt:

Autoexec.nt
Config.nt
Command.com
The error can occur when installing or uninstalling a program.

In my case Autoexec.nt was missing from the C:\WINNT\System32 directory. Looking in the C:\WINNT\Repair directory I found that Windows had automatically made a backup copy of Autoexec.nt, so I just copied this into C:\WINNT\System32 and the problem was fixed.

Note: The C:\WINNT directory on my computer may be C:\WINDOWS on other systems. Substitute as necessary when following the above instructions.

Note: If you can't find a copy of the missing file in your Repair directory, use your original Windows OS disk to get the missing files. At the command prompt

hope that helps,
Adam
