a tilt sensor on a car wouldnt really do a whole lot cause if they are raising the car the shock sensor would more than likely go off but then again it doesnt hurt to be extra cautious

i put my alarm on my 2g a while ago (it was a compustar not the viper) and it was pretty straight forward. Hopefully if the weather warms up some ill get time to pull out the compustar and put my 5900 in.

talondsp you said u installed these viper alarms also, what do u have to do if u have a factory alarm already

The factory alarm will disarm with the stock fob, or using the key. When you hook up the alarm, there is a factory disarm wire you will hook up to the factory disarm wire that runs to the lock at the door handle.

When you disarm the viper(or whatever alarm) it will disarm the factory alarm at the same time.

But, the only way the factory alarm will arm,(without using the factory fob) is if you lock the doors with one of the doors open. so as long as you close your doors before locking them, you wouldn't have to hook up the factory disarm wire. I would reccomend doing it though, because it is pretty easy.

If you do get a viper 5900, I have the install manual I can email you, if you buy used and do not have it.

The 5901 is the newest version and has a new cooler looking remote, with more features, but it is more money. Just depends on what you want to spend.

I like that feature a lot. that is pretty cool.

I have all of my cars passive arm and lock 30 seconds after the doors close, so I have always put in a hidden momentary switch, so if the keys did get locked in, I could unlock the doors.

I have never locked mine in the car, but my wife sure has.

Now I also have a gps unit in my cars, so I can unlock the doors from my phone, or any computer. and if my alarm goes off, it will send me a text message, and email.

I can also go online and see where my car is at(or going) from my phone or any computer. I also have it wired so I can kill the car online or from my phones browser. The GPS is so damn awesome.

Ok so i found out this site has it for about 183.00 shipped Viper 5900 SST [5900 SST] - $174.99 : AVD - Car Stereos, Car Speakers, Home Theater Systems, Navigation, In-Dash DVD Players, Televisions

But i found some others and noticed some viper5900 come in the squar box and some like the link i showed you up top come in the long rectangular box?? is 200$ comes in the square box??

The long box is the previous model(791xv) The new model is in the smaller box. But the top link says 5900 SST, so it should be fine. They are just using the picture of the old model I am sure.
