anyone interested in led mirrors on their 1g?

Without pictures...what's the point. It's like fixing your best bud up with a girl without knowing how the girl looks.

Kind of cool... but I would suggest two things:

1) Find a way to mount the LEDs behind the mirror... which wouldn't be too hard. You'd have to scratch away a small mount of the paint behind the mirror glass, take a strip of plastic and drill holes in it for the leds to sit inside, then epoxy the plastic to the back of the mirror. Careful with the paint your remove behind the mirror. It may contain Mercury which is toxic. Wear gloves and don't breath too close.

2) Change the color of the LEDs to amber or red. Those colors are less distracting to other drivers. You want to let them know what you're doing, not blind them or cause them to panic and do something stupid (believe me, they will). Plus, by law, you can not have blue colored lights on your car. Only cops are allowed to have that.

Do these two things and package it in a kit with step by step instructions and you'll be able to sell more than a few.

I think it looks okay. It is really creative and will slam points up at a show. I thought of taking the blinker lights off a F150 awhile back and fiberglassing to the mirrior. I would basicly mold them in the mirrior. I think it would look okay but I don't know so that is what is keeping me from doing it. But that is very creative what you got there! I would get a headach looking at the bright blue though...

I was thinking of a big, yellow one on the _bottom_ of the mirror pod. You'd never see it, but it would be visible to other drivers to the front and the back.

thanks for the idea but i am not really interested in any things sticking off my car that is why i am molding my body kit and all body lines...i was originally going to do the universal side markers on the fender but then i figured a clean car is a winning car...so i manned up and did led turns in the mirror...hidden and clean:thumb:
