im thinking abut buying my friends manifold. it came with his small 16g so it will be perfect for my small 16g. but i dont know much about the quality of this brand. he said they were CX Racing or Motorsports. the tubing seemed a little small but might flow better than my stock 2g mani. he said $120 for it. let me know what you think about them. bad pic but thats all i had of them.

I would keep the 2G and spend the money elsewhere. Gains from a tubular manifold are going to be very limited on your setup.

thanks. ill keep that in mind. if i can get him down i might do it but how reliable will it be

Some recommend staying away from tubular manifolds on a street driven vehicle due to the fact that the material can't take as much stress as a cast peice and is prone to cracking or breaking. Some people manage to get away with it. You are rolling the dice with this one.

Ported 2g manifold will flow more than you are likely to ever need.

I believe the CXracing manifold is 304 stainless, and thin 16 gauge at that

It's a hit or miss, not very strong.

But above all, I'd reccomend picking up some bits and a grinder and giving it a go yourself. Harbor freight has some cheap tools and you can find carbide bits online.

Go to Forcedperformance.com and get your self one of their cast manifolds for $199.

Yeah stay away from that exhaust mani. like some of the guys already said port the 2g mani or buy a ported 2g i think bushur still sells them. Anyway don't buy your friends exhaust mani, or anything similar its not even worth bolting up if you got it for free.

Just to clarify, when people tell you to port something yourself, typically speaking they do not mean port your head yourself. Porting the collector of a manifold is somewhat straightforward, there's plenty of info on what to do online. Porting heads, however, is not so simple. If you are inexperienced and don't know what to do you can seriously fvck up your head, even make it flow less after porting it.

As far as tubular manifolds go, we run a DNP, and so far no complaints as far as cracking *knocks on wood*. However, tubulars mean you can't run a heatshield. Even after we got ours ceramic coated it still throws a good deal of heat off, for you I would say grab a dremel, which is a great tool to have no matter what, some bits and port your 2g manifold.

my head is already port and polished so im not worried about that. i was looking into the forced performance. seemed like a good deal. does anyone know that size they are ported to? i dont want to spend 200 to by the same mani. and i would port the o2 that came with my small 16g. (it was free so it cant hurt). i might just look into porting my o2 housing by myself with some of those carbon bits.

The FP Cast Mani is great and will outflow the 2G, ported or not. However, with that said, a ported 2G is also an excellent choice. No harm in trying to port yourself. There are many threads about techniques and what a finished product looks like.

The FP mani matches their FP30 series turbine housing. It doesn't require any porting & will match up perfectly to any properly ported mitsu flanged turbine housing. It is a killer deal at that price & is the only Mitsu flanged cast mani on the market that has an actual collector & the exhaust pulses are direct into the turbine housing instead of at each other, hitting a wall like all the other stock designs.

Porting the O2 housing is a pretty simple task & if you do a search around here on porting you'll get lots of info on what to do & pics to help you out as well. Also don't bother with a Dremal, that will take forever, you need a Die Grinder.

Port the 2g Mani, hes running a s16g guys... he wont need more than that for now. Save your self the money, learn to do it yourself all the info you need is on this forum. Then when the time comes to upgrade you wont have wasted a bunch of money... You don't want to do things twice, stick with what you got for now, its all you need.:thumb:
