Yeah I know I still need to work on the little things that add up, my biggest thing right now is traction even with the lsd its still hard to get with street tires and 16psi, I do have the greedy profec b dual stage but I need to get the remote to switch from low to high boost. Then I need to get an egt gage, 660 injectors, afc and dyno tune my car, slicks and ill be ready for him, I am just going to be patient and when the time comes ill enjoy it more.

hey man check this out I ran a 99 stock ws6 (automatic) and I have a all wheel drive talon (90) I can beat him from a stop but we are dead even from a roll and I am 14b powered. My friend has a 95 gst with a 14b and boost controller and 2.5 press bent cat-back exhaust and hey pulled him from a roll at like 140mph but from a roll a ws6 could not pull form him, so if u got all the stuff u say u do u should be able the beat him no problem the best thing I can tell u is to go on the street and go from a roll. If he is that fast he wouldnt be scared to go from a roll. If u got any ?'s fell free to ask.

Alright Thanks, im going to give it a try, and see what happens. check out my other post on the vr6 golf turbo charged that i raced...

So wondering what happened with this race.Very interesting to me since I have a 99 ws6 trans am and a 96z28 lt1 vert. The lt1 vert ran close to your time stock with no practice. The ls1 ran high 13.s stock.Altitude hurts na cars more than turbo cars I am almost sure.ls1 stock usually do run low 13s at decent altitudes and density air days.Density air is figured out from humidity, temp and bar pressure. You can be at 2000 ft above sea level but on a bad air day it can be like 5000ft.A turbo car shoiuld have a huge advantage in that situation. The best my 450engine hp 99 can do is 13.35 at 109 mph on street tires.with like a 2.27 60ft.

So if you are at atlitude you should have a good chance maybe but you will need way better 60fts than what you are getting.

I am very curious to see how my ws6 does against my talon this spring.Should be interesting but the talon should kill it on street tires.

Buddy with 500hp ls1 only can get a 12.5 up here at 115 on street tires.
We are 2000 ft above sea level here.

interesting. Im pushing about 280-300 horse to the wheels currently, and I can take WS6's if i launch right. From a roll i pull on them too, and z28's and some SS's.

5.0 stangs are easy now too. The WS6 should beat a stock GST but a stock GSX will put up a good fight. GSX should still lose to a WS6 though.

With 280 to 300 to the wheels you should take them..if you can hit 1.7 60 fts or even 2.0s the ls1 cars on street tires will be lucky to do 2.3 to 2.4 or worse. And they actually have about 350 at the engine stock but the cars are also heavier than the awd dsms by like 400 pounds and the no awd dsms by like 800 pounds. So again a dsm with 280 to 300 at the wheels should win ,heck even one with 300 engine should be very close race.

I think the ls1 will hand you your ass if you only runnin mid 14's. No question about it. Might consider a 60 shot to chase him down after you hook up.

I have simular mods, maybe even a little more that miguel and I only run a 13.9 @ 102mph w/ 16 psi on race gas. If this guy truely runs low 13's than turn your boost up to 19-20 on race fuel and get it tuned on a dyno w/ wide band before the race. Alsoo I'm not sure what rubber your running but some Nitto 555R's or Falfen Azenis' would definately help. Good luck....Larry

Well i don't know what year is was, but I raced a WS6 on the freeway some time ago running 17 PSI. I was doing about 65 and he passed me at about 75-80. So I dropped gears and punched it. (We were screwing around prior, but he got stuck in traffic.) Those cars have amazing top end, but I finally caught him and passed him at about 135. Then we were approaching traffic.

If you caught him by 135, especially in an AWD , he probally had let off.

Actually by the way that he looked at me when I passed him and the way that I was catching up to him, I would say that he was at full throttle.
