Hey everyone. I have a 98 Spyder GST 5 Speed. only mods are intake filter, bov, some magnaflow muffler. No boost controller or anything. It is dropped wiht Eibach, and i cut the dump tube. I have the stock chromies on, and the tires are Michelin Mx4 or something like that. All-season tires. I went FULL WEIGHT. i mean...my books and bookbag in the back of the car, spare tire, some tennis rackets and stuff in the trunk, etc. LOL. ANyways, itw as my first time at any track ever. I ran 3 runs, and I'm sad to say my times were slow. My dad threw away two of the time slips but i have the one to my first run ever. He thought they were receipts....=(...This was at Island Dragway in Hackettstown,NJ last Friday.
Either way, my first run I went 16.445@ 90.21.
R/T...1.517 (the guy was still talkin to me tellin me what to do)
60' ...3.146 (no launch at all)
330 ...7.493
1/8 ...10.953
MPH ...70.69
1000...13.942
1/4...16.445
MPh ...90.21

The third run really sucked...i had a decent launch but tires spun as soon as boost came on in first.

The second run i went [email protected]. I had a slightly better launch and my reaction time was .551, but i was a nervous wreck. Again, tires spun in first. I believe the 60' that run was a 2.716. I know its very slow, but i can't seem to find a stock car to compare it to. Next time, i think i will take the garbage out of the car, and take out the spare, and drop the tire pressure before i run. Any comments on my runs would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Andy

you should at least be at a 15.3 get some better tires and work on your launching

My first night at the track my best run was a 15.3. I have a pic of the slip in my gallery. The only mods that night were Greddy BOV and an intake filter.

see whats funny is that my MPH is just about the same as yours...but im SOOOO much slower...i will drop tire pressure, and take all the garbage out of my car...15.3 will be my goal.

when my car was almost stock except for kn filter and exhaust, I pulled off a 14.8. I had a friend that night with a 99 spyder gst get a 14.4 with act clutch, injen intake and a muffler with the stock exhaust piping. I'd say the clutch helped him out a lot.

When I was all stock, no filter, bov, nothing I ran a 15.1 with a 60' of 2.3 on the second run. That was my first time at a track. The first run had massive wheel spin and I ran a 16.6 :thumbdown The third run also had wheel spin and was a 15.5

guess i'll definetly have to unload my car this time and drop a few lbs of tire pressure...i really wanted a good idea of what my car would run everyday. Now, i want a 15.3@91+ with a 2.5 or better 60'.

good job...we trapped at the same speed so technically if i got a better launch i should be able to drop my time fairly dramatically...i hope to get that done
