Anybody using an injector driver? FJO or AEM

Hi guys I bought some Bosch 1600cc injectors and the stock resistor pack does not like the injectors. So I decided that I need an injector driver. I have read that the aem injector driver does not like the bosch 1600s.

Therefore I was thinking of getting an FJO injector driver. I was wondering has anyone on the forum used this injector driver???

no im running ds-map. But idle and cruise suck with these injectors because they are 5 ohm injectors and I guess our stock resistor pack does not like that .

The issue is that they have to be really well matched to idle since the pulses are so short.
Deadtime is a huge factor too.

5 ohms for the injectors is fine. The stock injectors are 2-3 ohms and the resistors 6 ohms. The NA injectors are 13-16 ohms so a 5 ohm injector with a 6 ohm resistor is less of a load on the driver than the original 450's.

Then why do i have such a hard time getting them to idle good?

I don't know what else to say. As the injectors get larger you need a tighter match to get the same idle quality.

A lot of people have problems with the Bosch 1600s.

Raising your idle speed, will help some.

Lowering your fuel pressure will make them act like a smaller injector.
You are going to run out of pump a long time before injector, with 1600s, unless you have a really heavy duty fuel delivery setup.

I always thought 1600cc injectors required a higher idle in order to idle properly.

That's one bandaid. Raising the idle causes a tiny improvement in injector pulse width and the flywheel spinning faster helps smooth out roughness.

The reason I responded to the thread was to make it clear the problem here wasn't with the injector drivers on the DSM ECU or the resistor pack but a problem with these injectors and the difficulty getting them matched well enough at such short pulse widths to idle well.

Screw the bosch 1600's.
Sure they used to be the only choice but I just run FIC bluemax injectors on AEM.

Anyone have any updates on the AEM Peak & Driver injector driver box? I know that they can't handle 5 ohms 1600cc injectors, but the AEM tech agent told me differently today. I do don't know if AEM upgrade their box or not.

There is a guy in my city that uses 1600's with an aem injector driver and he says it works well.
