Any way to hack 2g spyder seats to fully recline?

Any way to do this other than just buying either full recline racing seats or junking them out of a coupe?

I tryed that and failed....the only thing i hate about our 2g spyders, Just swap them with a hardtop seats remove cloth or leather covers remove the leather or cloth from spyder seats and slap it on the HT seats AND GAZE AT STARS WITH your GF

The seats don't recline for a reason. The seat will hit the speakers/side panels.

Theres a small tab that needs to be cut/ ground along hinge. I don't remember exactly what it looks like but I did it with my first spyder. I haven't done it in 12+ years sorry.

Yup, shortly after I bought my '97 Spyder GS-T in late '07, I pulled the seats out to see what was limiting the recline angle, but couldn't spot anything.

So, a couple of years ago, I bought a set of good condition used tan leather hatchback seats for $100 and swapped-in just the passenger seat (for my wife's comfort during long trips, also have the powered driver's hatchback seat just sitting around, but I prefer the manual seat adjustability).

First thing I warned her after installation was that if she lowered the seatback, the seat had to be pulled forward on the rails to prevent the edge of the seatback from bashing through the speaker grill. So far, in 3-1/2 years, the speaker grill is still unbroken.

That's got to be one of the FEW TIMES that she has actually LISTENED to what I've said.

BTW, the only thing missing from the non-Spyder seat is the seatbelt guide loop. No biggy, as it's just a short reach-around to the belt as it emerges from the retractor slot.

I tried again to cut the gear or latch thing because there's alot of teeth in the mechanism probably enough to have modified reclining seats, its a real tight squeeze to work with i gave up again imma keep an EYE at the new junk yard in Las Vegas Nv any part 10bucks or less
