Is there an upcoming meet in Indiana? My friend was saying there was and we were gonna come from kc.

DSM's have seemed to get scarce around here. I never really see a nice one anymore...just every once in a while. Maybe if there is a meet I will finally get to see a decent DSM:)

I've been up to US131 once and that was for a chevy meet and drags (my buddy has a 70 corvette so he wanted to go). It's a real nice facility. Ocseola is okay. Assuming no one breaks, you can get quite a few runs at OC on a test and tune night. That didn't happen last night. I only got two runs because some dude decided to wheel stand his nova, break his bumper off and I assume smash his oil pan, and then proceed to run the length of the track putting down oil...oh well...
 
Thats no good.

I couldn't make it yesterday. (obviously) I became obligated to take care of other things. How did your Forrester do? Did anybody else make it?
 
If I could drive, the Forester would have done just fine. The best I could do was a 14.9, but that was with a 2.26 60'. I was able to get a 2.0 60', but then I let up early on it. This car as it is has 14.7 in it. With a boost controller, I think I could get it sub 14. I hate bleeder systems.

im up in kalamazoo michigan and i have yet to see a dsm ( besides the nt and the old people) any of you guy ever run up at US131 dragaway its on like 10 mins from my house. well i can make it in 10. i moved from Milwaukee area where there was one on every corner man i miss that

Man I can't believe you couldn't see any...How long have you been in the area?

I know of at least 10 turbo DSMs in the Kalamazoo area here, we usually have meets in the summer and do alot of racing at US131.

i havent ever heard of that site but i have just register'd to the site thanks for the link. i would like to meet up with some of ya but im having problems i think with my turbo. so im down till i figure it out.
 
Hey everyone! I was referred to this thread by Locke. I live in Warsaw (about the middle of Ft. Wayne, and South Bend) I bought my new Talon off a guy from Kalamazoo. Tyler something. It's red and black two-tone if anyone may have known it/him in that area. My trans is junked, so I'm startin to save up. Haha, there's this cop that lives in the same apartment complex as me and I had to park my car so a tow-truck could get to it (which wasn't technically a parking spot, but many others park there) He bitched me out and said he was gonna have my car towed if it wasn't moved within a half an hour. Lol, the trans is seized in some magical gear that won't let it roll backwards OR forwards. We went and put it on wheele dollies and pushed it over into a spot. He came over expecting to get to tow it (was still there and he hadn't seen us) then he saw it was on dollies and I explained the situation. Haha, blew his mind! "So you mean to tell me your just going to push it around then? It must be moved at least once every seven days or it will be considered abandoned." Just said yup and we got to pushin LOL!

What exactly is SDR? I live about 45 minutes east of Merriville which is about 45 minutes southwest of South Bend and I've never heard of the place. I have a 96 GSX but my 7 bolt seized up a few months back and I've been saving up for a 6 bolt. So just wanted to know how SDR is and what they do? sell parts? rebuild? swap? tune? I would love to do this myself but with me working and going away to college in august i need a car asap and I'm sure if I did it I would forget one little thing that would ruin the whole engine, LOL.

So anyway I'm another DSMer pretty close and should be back on the road hopefully by the next month or so. So if you guys want to do something I'll definitely be there. I definitely want to go to Osceola drag way this summer cause my dad has a 70 Chevelle SS 454 LS5 and his friend has the LS6 and his other friends got an older Monte Carlo and they all think they can beat me. So it should be fun. Plus my brothers got a 92 Dodge Stealth Twin Turbo, but he knows i SHOULD be able to beat him, haha. hopefully, he runs mid 13's so its not to bad.

Also I need a dsmlink cable, guy I bought it from didn't have one but I didn't have a problem cause it ran really well but now I will disconnect the battery so I'll be screwed without one unless I find one or someone lets me use one. Later.

Have you been on midweststreet forums yet? If not, register now, its a lot closer to home than this place... Yeah, they do alot with Old muscle, but they have a 1g shop car, and its a nice DSM... Check em out or give them a call....

What are the names of the guys that drive those cars? I think I might know one or more...

HA, I haven't talked to Tyson is a looong time. I used to know him from when I owned my own business about 4 years ago. Ask him if he remembers Paul Volk, Adam Crouch, or C&V Import Racing.

I am still mid heart transplant in the GSX so it won't be out any time before the end of July sadly. But when I am done it will be a nicely built 6 bolt ready to make some good numbers.

At least my DD is a semi fast car, 07 VW GTI, its fwd but it is faster then a stock turbo dsm.

Hey Scott!, Long time no see! So what happened to your 2g? Blow the 7 bolt up? Sounds like you have a nice DD. I like the VW's, but the subies have me hooked deep. I love having a large 4 cylinder with a small turbo. Torque baby! :)

But I only get to drive my forester on the weekend. The wife likes it too;) I think I'm going to have to go out and buy another one. I'm getting tired of driving my Colt.

Let me know when you have the 6 bolt swap done or if you need any help (or if you need any parts, I still have a shed full of 6 bolt stuff!). I need to get out to the track later this month when I have my FXT dialed in and see what it can do.
 
Yea the 7-bolt lunched a rod on the way home from my Ex-GF's house back in november, I put the car on hold till I had time/money to do it right. What pissed me off is I had just made 7 drag runs on the car 2 days before and it ran fine with no hints of problems, then it blows up while I am just cruzing doing 45ish out in Kouts.

6 bolt block 20 over, line honed, and decked for cleanup
crank was cleaned up and balanced
eagle rods with arp bolts
wisco 8.8:1 pistons
port/polished head
BC valvesprings/retainers with fluted oem valves
stock cam for now(want to do something like FP2 cams later, will get some after market cam gears when I get to that point)
Mitsu MLS HG and ARP head bolts

I still need to get the 1g TB cleaned up but that should be soon.

I ordered a Devo twin disk clutch/flywheel, hopefully this will hold up longer then the 5 months the ACT 2600 did.
 
Ah, ya...Now I remember why I ditched my DSMs:) For some reason, I just can't get it out of my system though...I have a Colt with a 1.6 in it (little brother if the 63), and it is one of the most rare NT versions. I'm getting ready to drop a 14B on it and see how it does. I know it is a mitsu and it is going to be a basket case, but I just keep coming back for the abuse:)

Well if it counts for anything, I used to live in Mishawaka. I moved to south dakota with my parents,(thinking about moving back), since i have been here i bought a 96 Eclipse RS. My friends older brother has a 95 talon tsi, and my friend Jordan has a pretty quick talon aswell, both cars a black.

Any of us planning on driving over to Normal, IL over the weekend? Unless the wife changes my (her) mind, I will be there.

Elkhart is county 20, read the plates to find my car. Will appear as is does in my gallery.
