any harm in hot tanking a cyclone intake manifold?

I don't know if it would effect the flappers or not but I've read the hot tanking is hard on aluminum parts and tends to pit them. If I remember right jet washing is a better alternative. Of course it all depends on the solution being used in either. From what I understand though, harsher chemicals are used in hot tanking.
 
yes it will be fine, just rinse it really well after the bath. And for sure check to make sure it is ok with aluminum, some are very aggressive caustic acids, could cause deterioration.
