Any experience with the Dejon CIP-1gA intake?

Anybody using this Dejon intake pipe? Appears the idea is it allows use of the OE air canister. Also, the section of original intake hose preserves the charcoal canister and breather hose connections. Any tangible air flow, spooling, performance improvement over the OE hose?

IMO the stock 1g maf is worthless and should be upgraded asap. No need to spend money on an intake pipe for it. There's other places in the car you could spend your money on.

I've been thinking about that. For awhile I was looking on Ebay for a 2G MAF, and a dead 1G MAF so I could build a harness adapter, and then I learned about the need for Eclipse 550 or Lancer EVO 560cc injectors, and it seems next an SAFC. I've thought about all that and concluded I'm really not trying to get to where all that would put me (either in cost or performance). I'm a budget kinda guy and my sights are pretty modest.

Yes, the 2G MAF is clearly the way to go if I'm at all serious about HP. But I think my interests will be satisfied by just approaching the limits of the 1G air configuration. I suspect I'm still pretty far from that and my car is already much peppier than it used to be !

I'm running the Dejon intake. Basic benifits is looks and sound. You can hear your turbo spool louder and it just makes the engine bay look clean.

So, it sounds like you really didn't notice any performance upgrade, but you value its other attributes. Do I have that right?

EDIT: Wow! I just checked your profile -- I can see the intake pipe getting lost in all that

dejon intake, k&n filter, 3" turbo back exhaust, ebay/Punishment racing BIG front mount, EVO 16g turbo, EVO manifold and o2 housing, 3" GM MAS

Ya you have that right. If you have money to throw around or plan on getting a 3" GM MAS and MAFT, go for the intake. It will allow you more room and to get rid of that god awful stock MAS. Hope my opinion helped.
