As far as removing the afc, do you just hook the wires back up like stock or is it different with link? Also, what's a good price for link right now, never really looked so not too sure what they normally go for

yes just unhook everything just like it would be stock and rehook up the maf signal wire then your set or you can do it the ghetto way cough cough corey cough and leave the afc in and just zero all the settings

Forget VP and their Oil Spill, that fuel fails before it starts. I wouldn't want macros and tuna fish floating inside my fuel tank.
LOL now that is an unusual visual. $80 for a five gallon drum of sushi race fuel.

I'm almost glad my car ate its wiring harness because I had this penciled in on my calendar, I was going to go but my car was down. He's lucky I wasn't there or his ass would be in jail, I wouldn't have just been ducking behind a car when he pulled out a gun I would have been halfway dialing "911". I always wondered about that guy, I saw him walking around with his possey of nuthuggers in the pits and he never introduced himself... Not very good business sense and after that dyno day I can't imagine him keep his shop open for much longer, unless his Evo nuthuggers keep his head above water. :toobad:

:applause::thumb: Damn, I vote this as the post of the year! That is exactly what someone else said in regards to his shop too. He makes money from the Lancers who need work in the area. I am really surprised that nobody recorded a damn VIDEO on their cell phone or something....... I definitely agree that a great business person [especially shop owner and tuner!] would be very open and friendly to the community, platform disregarded.

San Diego seriously needs another Mitsu-specialty shop w/ an AWD dyno.

there is a awd dyno at Garage GT right off the 52 in kearny mesa, on convoy street. i haven't had them tune my car. There is a very knowledgeable guy who works with dsm. His name is Everet. i trust him with my car. The rest of the people there are fairly knowledgeable about our cars). Everet if im not mistaken is AEM certified and had the fastest 1G dsm in SD

shoot im not sure his screen name but next time i see him ill ask,(but he coulda just been talking the talk), i saw his drag car it was intense, big turbo, water cooled intercooler and nitrous for the lag, it was at pann auto in the back, he sold it to his bro and was helping his bro out with the car, DOES anyone know if we are gonna caravan from sd to mod2010 im really shooting for my car being street tuned and painted

I was gonna go to MOD with my new
1g but I have to work that weekend....that always happens

whose doing your paint? I wanna get this car repainted but don't know any good painters in the area

Hey guys my car has been stuttering at WOT @4400rpms. I cant seem to go past that. I am at 9psi on the 14b with 450 injectors. I have changed the plugs and wires and fixed and re-tested for boost leaks. I have a logger and at 4400rpms my inector duty cycle goes from about 75% to about 50%. Also the two times I changed my plugs, the #1 plug is black. Can anyone help me? [email protected] -Luis If you email me I can give you my girl's cell phone where you can reach me. Thanks.

Also the settings on my safc are +30 at 1k and 2k. And +13 all the way up, otherwise my car was running lean.

Evenin' Gents, just introducing myself here, since it seems to be the only active san diego dsm thread. I've only had my 95 talon tsi awd for 6 months or so, and am just now learning how to fix the many issues I have, and will be encountering. I'm still pretty much incompetent with this car, but am learning new things every day. I imagine that by the time I have it running perfectly, I'll be an expert :)

You need to get a wideband to accurately tune your car with that SAFC because the logger isn't enough. For now watch your front o2 voltage, you'll want it above 0.9V at WOT so if its less than that your running too lean at WOT. That spark plug is black because its too rich, +30 on stock injectors is incredibly rich why so much fuel?

I don't recommend trying to tune your car with the front o2 sensor voltage but if its working correctly it will atleast get you in the ballpark of too rich or too lean.

Welcome to the forums. You will find that DSM doesn't just stand for Diamond Star Motors, it also stands for Driver Slash Mechanic... ;)

Any suggestions, or can anyone ride with me while I do a pull and maybe help? Thanks.

with a 14b and 450's everything should be zeroed as thats all in stock form

but on your safc the way it should be done is do your low throttle first. using the logger log your stft and ltft you want the ltft to be 0 +-5 all the way up to where your swutch over point is at. Automatics should have the switch over point set a little higher than a manual other wise during basic acceleration you will resort to your hi throttle settings. but once you get those ltfts set as close to zero as possible then you can do the hi throttle dont do pulls untill the lo throttle is completely done. when setting your high throttle use the front o2 as gofe4r said and get as close to .9v as possible with out knocking.

If I zero everything out my trims are at 139. At the current settings my trims are LFT 97% MFT 93% and HFT 100%. If I zero everything out on WOT I get knock and the volts are around .82. I can't rev past 4,700rpms at WOT.

Your SAFC settings should look like this since you've still got on a stock 14b and 450cc injectors...
Low Settings
1K +50 2K +18 3K +10 4K +8 5K +6 5.5K + 6 6K +6 7K +6

High Settings
1K +0 2K -1 3K -1 4K 0 5K 0 5.5K +3 6K +4 7K +5

THPoint
Lo 20% Hi 60%

If your front o2 voltage is .82v at WOT then your hitting fuel cut because your running lean...

Does the "spoiler" on the 95 talon come off easily? I haven' actually looked at how it's attached, but I think Killface (that's what we named the car, a bit of a story... Does anyone here watch "Frisky Dingo"?) would look a billion times better without it...

(Also, do'nt mean to offend anyone, I'm not replacing it with anything, I just think it'll look much more smooth, and sexeh in my mind. I really dig the "unassuming" car look)

I can remove my high rise 2gb turbo spoiler in less than 5 minutes, however I also don't have a rear wiper right in the middle of it. That thumbnail spoiler could probably somewhat of a P.I.T.A if its your first time taking it off... You might like the unassuming car look but your also going to have holes in your trunk, so unless you like the POS car look to I'd just leave it. :thumb:

Hey, Verge (Hector aka Alex) It has been over a month and yet to get a good working tensioner arm. You know what we had agreed on. It is a sketch move you made so far by telling me you had a good working one in your posession but not with you at the time, that is the only reason I had let you borrow it as we had agreed you would replace it. It has also been over a year that you have borrowed the factory intake box. At this time I only see you giving the run around and at this point I am thinking of asking for the tensioner arm you took from my brother's engine back, that same one. I will not take anything in less than the perfect condition as the one i let you borrow. Again I do not know how you rationalize things or why it is taking so long to do things but as I told you it was not mine it is my brother's. I feel that I lend you a hand and you take a leg, turn around and flick me off broseph...

MOD 2010 !

If everything goes well by this weekend coming up. I will hopefully be bringing my 98 carbon monster to MOD.
You and I are on the same page... I've got a lot of work to do and not a whole lot of time left before the 10th, I'm going to be pulling a few all nighters if I have to. I'll tow that bi*** up to MOD if it doesn't want to start, #### it.
