okay i had this idea earlier dunno if its been thought of, but would it be cool if we could get our sponsor to help us have our own magazine like importtuners and superstreet or w/e magazines u look at. But of course it would be fillied with dsm products.

Just thought I would share my idea, who knows maybe it can happen.

Yea that would definitely be badass if we could have our own magazine dedicated to DSM's. I would definitely support.

Not enough people for just a dsm magize... But I think it would be cool if they had a Mitsubishi Magizine, like Honda Tuning and VDUB Tuners or something.

I wonder why Mitsubishi doesn't have its own tuner magazines already, everybody else does.

I would support a dsmtuners magazine 100%, its a great idea.

I would Support it and buy it every Month!!!!! :thumb:
I am sick and tired of magazine with honda's products! :thumbdown

It might be possible all we got to do is print some tech article, some members pictures, somebody testing products, article from dsmtuner's sponsors and Beatiful Models!!!! What else?? :D

RX7club.com have their own magazine, go to RXtuner.com its called RXTuner check it out its pretty cool,
and it would be badass if we could make our DSMTUNERS.COM magazine

I am actually working on something like this with some people on another site. To avoid large print/media costs associated with such an undertaking, we are going to start out by making a quarterly "eZine" and see where it leads us. We are currently working to have our first "issue" ready on May 1st. We have people all over the country who are going to be covering events, writing some basic tech articles, and interviewing DSMers. The goal is not so much to compete with Primedia or anything of that nature, more so to share the stories and cars of DSM owners across the country.

If you would be interested in giving this a shot (there's really nothing to lose), drop me an email and I'll give you more information.

Later.

Hey guy/gals... A bunch of us from Naples, FL also wants to start a DSMtuner magazine... I know setup is going to be hard... and I also read Defiant tried to already.... You guys still up to it? And what if we bring mitsubishi in you think they would sponsor something like this? Its been eating me for a while now (the idea)....

Patrick

Well, I read what happened to the other attempted magazine, don't let the nay-sayers get ya' down this time, I'm willing to help out!!

I know the cost would be tremendous but think about the couple thousand tuners on this site alone who would be willing to pay even a high yearly subscription price and stay loyal for years. DSM's are of course older so you would probably want to throw the Evo in there too. Maybe and DSMtuners/Evo Magazine? YOu would get the EVo owners to buy in too. I would be all for it and definately support it as well. Say you only put out 6 issues a year wouldn't that cut down the cost as well?

i would help in anyway possible. I work for a local magazine doing layout/design and i would even do that if it was needed. As for costs, i bet it would be about 10G's tho for a 100 page magazine to be printed. Probably around 50K copies. Then all it would have to do is be put on a newsstand or be mailed out to the home (with a suscription of course)

Maybe something about the size of the computer magazine 2600 would be a good start.

60 pages, about an inch taller and wider than a paperback, all reader submitted articles, 2 pages of ads in the back, published quarterly. $5.50, $4.50 with subscription

It seems like it would be better starting off with something that size than a full-out 150-200 page magazine with full color photos and tons of ads.

Personally I would rather read tech articles than look at 10 page photoshoots without so much as a 1/4 mile time anyway.

Just my opinion though...

i could cover the alaska side...LOL

The biggest hurdel is printing costs. Which can be worked around. But the issues would be much more then a typical mag. It's a dead market. Not worth trying to make from what I can see. All the vendors are known and there really isn't much of a demand for bs products. So advertising would really hurt. Which is what pays for the mag. The subscription costs are typically just to get it to your door.

wow this has to be one of the greatest ideas i have heard in a long time! i am definatly in for supporting a start up fund, and be a life long subscriber.

in my opinion as a dsm-faithful we should start up fund for donations if we are acually gonna start this. i think if it does start it should definatly start small, because of finacial reasons. any details on this would be greatful.

if/ WHEN this happens it will definitaly kick a$$ out of those honda-based mags. and definatly should be more tech and member articles rather than "import scene" bs.

wow its late so no real idea of wat i said and how it sounds so i appoigize ahead of time. but this should definatly happen because the dsm-"scene" is bigger then most people think

Now all we need is a loaded DSM owner to provide capital for this venture. :p

DSM is old news. Every magazine has either the Evo or STi on their cover, thats what people want to read I guess (I got tired of it). We are a dwindling population and there is no money to make if ever somebody decides to publish one. As somebody pointed out an "Ezine" or a fanzine thats electronically based would be the closest that can happen. Even Mitsubishi isnt on our side as shown by abandoning the Eclipse's evolution from the 2g. The 3G is a joke, and the 4th Gen, I wont even talk about.

If the DSM were a RWD (and not FWD) car, the face of the drift scene would be different. We would probably have enough generated interest to warrant a mag devoted to our favorite car. Then we can have a "Mitsubishi Tuning" mag or "DSM Times" or even "Chrysler Chronicles"

But nobody writes about DSMs anymore, and manufacturers are making less and less of our parts. They still design dampers and exhaust for older Silvias/240SXs but not for Eclipses/Talons anymore. Why? Not enough interest to warrant it.

ya dsm people are either newbies or hard core or like me mods it get pissed blow it up sell, take a break and end up buying 2 more...LOL but dsm's are kinda a mole group "they know where then but don't know how many and don't see them to often"...LOL

I think it is a good idea but not to jump head first is good to. I think it would be a good Semi-monthly magazine. Go to your bookstore or whatever and look at Sport Z magazine, it is a Datsun magazine. comes out sem-monthly not to large and not that many ads some pics are in black in white even feature tech articles. I think it would be important to cover the SHOW and GO aspects of cars (gotta let us NT guys in) It would be user submitted articles with 1 well known and respected editor,

I would be willing to Photoshoot and write in my area and local areas around me (New mexico, Oklahoma ETC. ) :thumb:

the problem with that is, is that its not a guarantee...

Hold up... a lot of you are saying that it shouldn't be just DSM's but also other mitsubishi cars, but i thought DSM was Diamond Star Motors..... as in all mistubishi cars anyways since the diamond star is the logo for mitsu. Whats the deal?
