i bought a gsx last week and i just changed the breaks because they were way overdue... i drove it for a little and the anti lock light went on.. i shut the car off and turned it back on and it turned off.... when i went to break the abs started freaking out i turned the car off then on again the anti lock light went back on then once again i turned it off and turned it back on and once again the breaks started freaking out i drove it for a while and it stopped and the light went back on and has been on ever since... any answers?

If i was in your situation i would get a repair manual and trouble shoot. see were its coming from and why your light keeps popping on and your breaks acting up.. suggest not driving it untill its fixed. Another thing is your check engine light come one at all?

Did you mess with any of the wheels speed sensors while you were changing the brakes? I would inspect the wheels speed sensors for any type of damage to either the sensor itself or the wiring. It could be many other things< but that would be a good place to start.

I had this happen before and one of the pins that the calipers slide on was locked up. I had to pry it out sand it down and put some lube on it. You should lube them everytime you do your brakes.

Until you figure out what is wrong with your ABS system I would suggest pulling the fuse for it. This will keep the ABS system from activating and you will just have regular old school "modulate it with your foot" brakes.

EDIT: The ABS light will stay on in the dash with the fuse pulled.
