Hey guys whats going on. So yesterday i got fed up with my anti-lock brakes comming on all the time, i decided to disconnect them. But i did not change out the brake lines and the system, i simply just went into the black box, located on top of the brake system, and pulled out the 12v relay that was there. Ever since i have done this i have not had a single problem with my brakes. No pulsating on the pedal and they work perfect. What i made this thread up for is, I was wondering if this may have done something to my alternator system. I know the antilock brake system buss fuse on the battery connector goes with the alternator for recharging the system. But , i dont think that this would have anything to do with that, and if i am wrong please tell me. So far it seems to have worked out well for me, ill take it day by day and see what happens.:thumb: :talon:

The only side effect of removing the electrical from the ABS pump, is that you will no longer have functioning ABS.

Why wont the ABS work with a logger plugged in?

The data logger cable disengages the antilock system when hooked up. You will notice that when you have a datalogger cable hooked up, your ABS light will go on. Not allowing the system to work.

I remember reading on here somewhere how to wire it up differently so it will work. Also if you connect the cable after the car is started it will allow the abs to work.

Also, pulling the fuse or just plain dissabling it isn't the correct way. Do it the proper way for safety. Get some lines, and the non-abs proportioning valve. It'll also clean up the engine bay.

Removing power from the ABS pump is perfectly safe. When the ABS is not doing its thing, the brakes act completely normal. Removing power from it will just prevent it from ever doing its thing. An acceptable way of disabling your ABS.

I would agree, though, removing the pump will clean up the engine bay.

No. The prop valves are different. Just disabling it is bad for safety compared to doing a proper removal.

is there any way of keeping the logger connected but make the ABS light on the dash stay off because it is quite annoying?
