another wheel fitment question

so i am considering new wheels and tires for my 1g awd talon. i want to get toyo r1r tires in 235/45/17 or 235/40/17 trim and i like the enkei rpf1 wheels in black because they are light weight. the only problem is that all of the guides seem to recommend a 38-40 offset, and the 17x8 wheels needed to fit that size tire only come in a 35 or 45 offset in that size. which offset would be better? i would like a flush look if possible. thanks for the help.

Seriously bro, your answer can be found within the first 2-3 threads after using the search function. If it were me and i were dead set on that combo, i would do a 235/45/17 tire with the 35 offset and 5mm wheel spacers. That will give you almost identical to stock tire height for your speedometer and odometer as well as making the 35 offset wheel essentially a 40 offset wheel which will make your tires fit nicely in your wheel wells.

what i've been trying to do is use the tire size calulators and the wheel offset calulator on 1010tires.com to estimate the difference from the tires i want and what i have now(215/45/17 on 17x7 45 offset). their wheel fitment check recommends the 35 offset on the rpf1s. if i do run that offset, according to the wheel offset check, after plugging in the tire width numbers from the tire size calculator, the inner clearance should be about the same and the tire will stick out an extra 20mm from the tires i have now. am i crazy or is this going to work?

Get 17x8.5, they have a +40 on that size.
