2G Another MSD coil question

I'm changing plugs and wires (Accel wires) on my '99 GS and thought I would change the coil since it's been on the life of the car and I'm working in that area anyway. Thought I would go to MSD but after reading a couple of threads here I'm not getting that fuzzy feeling about it. Only motor mods are CAI and catback. Are MSD's prone to premature failure? Any input?

Just go OEM, MSD is garbage for 420a.

Why are they worse than OEM? The only thing I read is premature failure (not that, that isn't a good enough reason).

They're not necessarily worse, they perform like you painted a oem pack red . Quality has went done over the years. They output the same as OEM, so you'd be buying a red coilpack that will probably fail.

Thanks for the input. Always thought MSD was known for quality. You'd think they would get better over time.
