i have searched the past hour, and havent found anyone that has done this. i have 4 wrx coils and pig tails. my question is, has anyone done the cop mod with these particular coils?

my power transistor is bad, so i figured ill throw these in while im at it. i know the stock stuff will suffice so save the grief.

yea, they mount up pretty damn good. i started to wire them in tonight, but didnt finish.

im thinking with these internal transistor coils, i can eliminate the power transistor. any thoughts wisemen?

if anyone wanted to know, wrx/sti coils will work as a coil on plug setup on 1g dsm's. (maybe 2g's as well, i donno) you also dont need the power transistor anymore, since the coils have built in transistors.

not a bad deal, given the fact that they were free from a co worker. i cant get any pics right now, tomorrow if anyone is interested.

Very interesting now we will need someone to tell us if they are better than the 300M coils everyone use in COP setups or not.

well so far they are running great, no misfires and plenty of power. only problem is, when i hook up the tach, the engine starts running like crap. it seems the tach weakening the ecu signal to the coils, i think i can get around this problem before to long, and have an end result of a pretty nice alternative.

they arent pretty by any means, ill clean up the install, maybe fab a cover if and when i get the tach working.
