Anyone have amber foglight bulbs on their 2ga? if so can you post some pics?

correct me if I am wrong, but I have never ever ever seen h-3 bulbs in any color, just white.

Thus it would be impossible to get orange fogs unless you have lenses custom made.

I think the amber ones are ugly. I had a set of Pilot amber fog lights and hated them. It looked ugly when they were on and had crappy light output. I got clear fogs after that and saw an immediate improvement in light quality/output as well as visually.

Less glare than white light.
And better efficiency at cutting through fog.

So much for myths.

Nothing cuts through fog, and if you're getting less "glare", it's because you're putting out less light. Which also means less illumination for when "fog" lights really are useful, which is catching deer eyes on the shoulder from a few dozen more feet away on a clear night when we really probably shouldn't be going quite so fast anyway.

Guess I am perpetuating the myth. :p

Does Europe still use alot of amber headlights? There has to be some reason for it.

like defiant said, fog is a physical thing, you cant "cut" through it with light unless they emit extreme heat rays or something (/tangent) anyways, i like for my fogs to match the color of my headlights. Silverstars look the best / give the best light output IMHO

All JGTC cars, and lemans cars have yellow film or yellow headlights because they say that it helps improve driving visability at night under any weather. Again, this is uncofirmed information which can be proven but I'm far too busy.

Amber, or yellow? Anybody here ski? On really flat light days, yellow goggles are fabulous. Foggy days the amber lenses are where it's at. Those are of course filtering light, but it seems like the general principle should be the same. The lexus LS, GS, and IS all use a yellow HID foglight, don't they?

I just put the PIAA 1451 yellow fogligths on my car, and they are awesome. They are so bright, I have had several people ask me if they were HID fogs. Here is a pic, doesn't do them justice in daylight.

I cant remember which honda (sorry) site it was, but people were wanting these foglights that were yellow because there was such a demand for them, but the price was outrageous. Anyways one of the guys there painted it with a translucent yellow paint and it was the same color as the pricey honda ones. You know those people that use the black stuff on there taillights? It's the same stuff but its yellow. I think a hobby store or some place like that would have it. make sure its translucent! peace :thumb:

btw he painted the glass that color, if you opened up the light and painted the reflective part, it may have the same result? i dono.
