My alternator gave out on me, anyone know reliable ones to get I see them new go for about 150, but I heard they aren’t the best and have to switch them out soon, and the ones that go for around 230 are pretty good can anyone confirm?

Is your alternator sufficiently insulated from heat from the o2 housing/downpipe?
There's rewounds you can get but if you've got little to no heat barrier between the two, a $250 unit will last as long as an $80 one.

I’ll have to check, I notice that after about an hour it does die on me so maybe it could be the heat. I just saw some reviews on the ones that cost 100$ and they mainly said they have to replace the alternators very often

The OEM alternators are Denso. There are tons of aftermarket options, but ACDelco is the only name brand I've ever heard of. I wouldn't be opposed to getting a used part if it tested well. This is probably a case where OEM is better. And while heat isn't a concern, ensure that the valve cover gasket is not leaking. That will quickly saturate the alternator.
