Alternator squeel, change pulley bearing?

Ok so my alternator belt has become too annoying, i cant get it to stop. How do you check/change the alternator belt pulley? please let me know ASAP thanks

It would more likely be an improperly tensioned alternator, or a belt that needs replacement.

In either case, the answer to your troubles lies with buying a Haynes manual. The old version I have still tells how to rebuild the alternator itself, which is a bit of a production.

I had this problem, my alternator belt was fine, and it was obvious because it only started after the tensioner bolt went missing, read about it here

A while back when my harmoni dampener (crank pulley) went bad. It caused a chirping sound.

Now the big mistake to do when there is chirping is to overtighten the belts. This can cause premature waterpump and harmonic dampener failure.

I would suggest a thurough inspection of your harmonic dampener as well as making sure that your belt tension is correct.

Check your belt to see if it feels tight or lose that can cause the problem in a big way. I had a horrible belt squeal when I did my 6bolt swap because one of the tensioner bolts slipped out of grove.. most likely that's your problem.

ok well i looked closer at it. you know how there are two bolts attaching the alternator tensionor assembly to the car. one to the alt, the other to the block, (which is the rear bolt) well the rear bolt broke, now i have the problem of retracting this bolt from the block, its just the shaft of the bolt the head fell off. please help....i need to do this today, or not at all
