Hello, So in the last few months I have been itching to install this 14b I have on my shelf. The T-toosmall has GOT to go. The 14b has zero shaft play, spins freely and is in great shape....besides the turbine housing. It's dirty still, but I'll let the video do most of the talking.

I understand some cracks will slow spool time a tad, but I'm not too concerned about spool right now. I have read many threads about racked housings and it really seems like it depends on the housing weather its able to be used or not.

So here it is: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tsn_hA14Kek]Eclipse GSX Dsm 14b turbo turbine housing cracks - YouTube[/ame]

Is this housing usable at all, or shall I continue saving for a 7cm TD05 housing?

Thanks!

I see alot of 14b/16g's like that people run em all the time but always nice to try to get a new hotside if you can.

What you need to do first is hit the wastgate flapper back in because it is not centered where it should be. Use a hammer and tap the end of the arm where the weld is on the outside of the housing to get rid of the gap there is between the wastgate hole and the flapper. Then when u get it where it should be, put the flashlight down the scroll of the housing and look around the wg flapper for light. If you see none it's good to go . If u see a little it's still usable but your spool will be a little slower. But do not run it the way it is. The cracks are fine as long as its not getting close to an edge where it can crack in half or something.

Cool, thanks guys! I'll fix that flapper and get it installed soon. I'm hoping it will hold me over until I do a bastard 20g conversion.

So now I have fixed the flapper being off center, and this is the result:

Will I be alright running this with that small gap for time being?

Do u think u can tap the wg flapper in somemore to cover that? If not its ok its way better then it was, your just going to loose a little spool time which you will not notice really. If you have the money buy a new one, if u don't just use it.
