All valve covers the same? Or CAS dependent?

So I picked up a junkyard valve cover a while back to polish or powder coat while I left my factory one on the car. I didn't even think about it at the time, but I have a 97, which has a CAS that is apparently similar to the 1g's.

Edit: I just realized that you have a 97. So if you have a 97 7 bolt, you already have a cam angle sensor similar to the 6 bolt cam angle sensors. But I do not believe that your 97 CAS will work on 6 bolt. I don't know too much about the later 7 bolts...

The valve cover is probably a 1g, since this junkyard has tons of turbo 1g's, and it has an arch on the passenger side where a CAS would go. It was sitting next to a Cadillac so I'm not sure what it came off of. Will this work on my 97? Another question I have is - if all the valve covers are the same, how do the 95-96's run them? Do they have a CAS block off plate or something?

Thanks buddies.

Edit: yes I searched, and I even looked through the Vfaq and 1000 already answered questions.
