all interior lights died

i was just driving moderately, with my headlights on , and all of a sudden all the interior lights died, the dash cluster lighting, and hvac lights went completely out, and i have my boost and oil presure gauges lights tapped into the cigarettle lighter illumination power and they went out too. Although my headlights stayed on and are working normally.

I looked in the under the dash fuse box, and no fuses were popped, I checked the under the hood fuse box and the tail light fuse was blown, replaced it, and it immediately blew again, I assume i have a short somewhere.

Are the tail lights, and interior lights on the same curcuit or something? Where shuold i start looking for a short?

i had that problem. it was my dimmer switch that went bad. i used a paper clip to complete the circit to make sure that it was the problem. and the paper clip worked so well, i kinda just left it in there. i never used the switch anyways. so i guess try that
