hey there, i read that i could disable my alarm by pulling the relay in the footwell, so i did and it worked fine for a day then the day after the alarm started going off @ 8 am( poor neighbours)

anyway, as is i just pulled the relay, what could i do know so it doesnt happen again?

Your best bet is to find the actual alarm module. They vary by manufacturer, but should be about the size of a wallet. If you accidentally pull out the starter kill relay, the car will not start back up until the starter wire is correctly connected back together. If you simply find the alarm module and disconnect all the harnesses that plug into the module you shouldn't have to remove any other wires from the alarm. It may be a little difficult to find the alarm module as a good installation should require the alarm module to be hidden well. Try to trace wires from your ignition cylinder/column and they should lead you to the alarm module. hope this helps

Great suggestion.... when dealing with AFTERMARKET alarms.

The OP did not specifically say if this was for the stock or aftermarket alarm.

If its for aftermarket, your reply would suffice.

To the OP, I am not surprised if this was a stock factory alarm giving you issues when you are trying to disable it. I hear another "clean" way to disarm it is to ground the green/white wire located in the bundle of wires going through to the door panel. This is the wire I connected my aftermarket alarm's factory disarm wire and works like a charm. And with a search you will see different methods of how others try to disarm theirs.

yea, when i bought it i was not really thinking of this stuff and didn't ask enough questions. but now i have this website thank god. I will do some more poking around and see what i can figure out tomorrow. thanks again guys. you made a nightmare turn into a dream.
