I just got a 98' GST and have a problem. The alarm, which i'm told is from the factory, will go off at random times. It will be sitting in my driveway and start going off for no reason. The first time was at a store and i heard it from inside, so i figured someone brushed up against it, so i started the car and it turned off. But again today, It was sitting in my driveway and goes off again, but when i go to start the car it doesnt turn off. I can drive with the alarm going. It didnt stop for about 5 minutes. What's going on? Is there an easy way to unplug the alarm system all together? Thanks for the help.

replace the battery in your remote for your alarm. also a way 2 shut the alarm off is to look for a valet switch some where under the dash that is conected to the alarm which is basically the same as the unlock button on your remote. if it is a factory alarm you can either put the key in the door and turn it back and forth and see if it turns the alarm off or just remove the anti theft and see if that helps.

Turn the key to the rear of the car. :)

When replacing the battery, clean the contact spots for the buttons. Sorry, I don't know their official name.

i searched for awhile and found out alot of people dissconected the hood sensor, so i'm going to try that. thanks,
Jordan
