According to the parts catalog description this is a decent gasket that will handle up to 450hp, because of funds my car will never see power even close to that but it could possibly get close to 300whp. Would the ajusa head gasket be a good choice or should i go ahead and get the head machined and get a cometic? Does anyone know off hand what average cost to get a head machined flat would be (ive never done a head gasket before)? BTW i will also be getting a set of arp head studs.

If you're doing a MLS HG you need to mill the block AND head flat, so that the mating surfaces are perfect. I've read some good things about the ajusa gasket, and it can't be all that bad if JAM sells them.

What happened to your stocker/why are you replacing it? Even the stock composite gasket has been known to hold descent boost. Throw in a set of ARP head studs and guys have been running mid 20's without a problem. The stocker is fine at 300 whp even without head studs.

In last 20k i'm running 20+psi on stock gasket and without arp studs...But now, I think I can smell coolant out of my exhaust...:barf:
