Air to fuel gauge.

Hey i got a air to fuel gauge that came with my car with no instructions. I have a pos. and a neg. wire. I also have one other wire. I heard you mount it into you oxygen sensor but there are 4 wires apart of it. My question is which one is it?

Well which gauge would it be as far brand?

I have an Autometer that has 3 wires.

Red: Power 12v
Black: Ground
Purple: Wire that leads to the O2 sensor

Then there are 2 other wires but they are part of the light bulb socket so they are just for the illumination.

Eh, they're light shows. The + and - wires are mostly gauge illumination. There's an O2 lead going into your ECU.. usually you just use a vampire tap or a snaplock to splice into it, and it gives you a very vague idea of where your air/fuel ratio is sitting, while at the same time being useless for tuning.

Any idea which one goes into the ecu. My thought was to run it under the hood into the acutal sensor but i guess i see that the ecu would be easier. I have the autometer. And there are 4 wires coming out of the o2 sensor. I know theres 3 on the gauge. Just wondering where u put that third purple wire to hook it up to.

EDit Where do i find a ecu wire diagram? Then i can figure out where to wire it.
