So this has got to be the dumbest question ever, i thought i knew it but i was reading some posts and they made me think other wise. I thought high numbers like 14.1 ment running rich and low numbers like 10.9 ment lean. Is that right or am i completely handycapped?

Here's a good link that would basically answer your question.

And 10.9:1 is Rich!

Hope the link helps ;)

you are just mixing up your a/f numbers - 14.4 is perfect @ cruise.
10:1 is good for WOT (on a turbo car) (fairly safe)

The DSM fuel injection scheme uses additional fuel as a charge cooling agent under boost.

But only because Big Oil paid them to set it up that way. When we switch to alcohol, Big Oil won't be able to eff with us anymore. Only Big Agricultural Conglomerates (Agriculturally Dominating Monopoly).

I dunno about you guys but I run 14.7 idle/cruise, and when I tuned out knock and gave myself a safety margin, I run 11.2 WOT.

Just crusing down the road I am typically running around 14.4 - 14.6. Now at WOT I run around 10.1 or so. It jumps around from time to time depending on the condidtions. But it is right around there most of the time. I have seen it at 11.1 - 11.4 in a track condition.
