I need an inexpensive air compressor that will support a boost leak test. Does anyone have some suggestion? im looking to spend 50-100 if thats possible. I have no idea what the maximum psi should be... Assuming im running my car normally, would i need an air compressor ranging from 14-20 psi?? that seems very low... I think my hand held air mattress inflator pumps out more psi than that. So would that handle a test?? Is a 1 gallon tank large enough? and are inflators and compressor basically the same thing?

Air inflator im considering

Any little compressor should work, it doesn'y have to be an industrial one. A little roofing compressor would work. I only pressurized mine to like 30PSI when I did it.

I don't think an inflator is the same because it doesn't compress air, it just moves it.
