I dont have a lot of money right now but what is the lowest gallon tank would I need to perform a boost leak test? I have never had an air compressor so dont know if it goes by tanks or psi. Thanks

According to the Walmart service area when your check engine light is on and yellow you should service it immediately. When it turns red you should stop the car. Lol no joke this is on their website

Nevermind, found it.

You know some vehicles do actually have a red 'Engine' light, right?

Well here is the thing about harbor freight, it doesnt exist in canada, plan B?

Great chineese tools otherwise LOL used to go often while i lived in seattle

90 day warranty? What is the extended? 6 months? Lol

FWIW,

That compressor is made by Sanborn. They had them side by side at Princess Auto here in Lethbridge and they are identical in build and in specs.

It's slightly cheaper at princess and I've seen it on sale. I'm either going to get one of those of the 80 gallon myself.

I used to own a sanborn 60 gallon with a cast iron pump. That thing was a beast. By far the best compressor I ever owned, until my ex business partner stole it for his business. Very good compressor for the money.

Kyle, I hear rumors of Lan Evo 4's and 5's being rather common up there? That places are importing cars WAY easier than US. Any truth to this? Ever see $hit like this now that you moved to BC?

By the way Dewalt makes the best everything. Period. Doesnt matter if its a drill, a saw or a air compressor. Get the Dewalt, good investment and will last for ages.

I moved to ontario not BC but yeah i havent seen a 4 but a few 1's and 3's yes very easy, skylines, silvias, lots of shit rhd

I'll look into the sandborn princess auto compressor, i have to go there anyway for a press break. :)

This should be everything you need. It should go to a larger version if you click on the photo. It puts out pretty decent numbers.

If you go to wal-mart and look at there little air compressor that is oil less that is what i got. It will do a boost leak test no problem. I have also used my impact on it and air blowers, air ratchets. Haven't used the sander yet. Campbell Hausfeld is a good compressor i like. Wal-Mart carries their brands of compressors. A 8gal will do a boost leak test and air up tires and blow out garage.

Here it is mine i have. Wish you good luck.:thumb:
Find the Campbell Hausfeld 20gal ASME Oil-Free Air Compressor at Walmart.com. Save money. Live better.

im thinking about the sandborn 80 gallon its 14 cfm, or dewalt 80 gallon same cfm, were you guys saying sandborn and dewalt are made at the same place? or sandborn and the harbor freight one. the 80 gallon sandborn at 1k is a good price

are compressors this size nice and quiet?

The dewalt and sanborn are one and the same.

Air compressors this large are not quiet, but its a much different tone than the oilless ones. It is a loud low rpm low pitch noise rather than a screaming high RPM one from oilless.

I couldn't agree more. It pains me when my dad uses his oil less. I just look at the gauge in awe watching how little it's moving for how much noise is happening haha.

I'm picking up this compressor today after work. (used from Craigslist, I'm getting it for $250). My little 8 gallon isn't big enough to paint with, so I needed something bigger.

What kind of painting are you planning on doing?

If it's painting an entire car that's a really small compressor to be doing so. I'd also invest in a really good air dryer as it will be working hard.

The one from harbor freight pumps out 16.4 cfm @ 40. The Sanborn pumps out 13.4 cfm @ 40. The Sanborn is a single stage, while the harbor freight one two stage. Definitely not the same.

I need 14cfm at 90psi for air tools would be optimum but I'm officially on a budget now

I'm gonna get the dewalt 60 gallon i think. It should do all that i need i dont plan on sand blasting often, and iml probably only paint my car once. Rest for air tools. 11.5 cfm at 90 psi for the dewalt 60 gallon 749$

Who says yes! Dewalt warranty is better than sandborn i believe, because of the name.

I stated that the DeWalt one from Home Depot is the same as the Sanborn one at Princess Auto (which also sells the dewalt one) as quoted below:

This is the product in question that I was talking about:

DEWALT 60-Gal. Vertical Stationary Electric Air Compressor-DXCMLA3706056 at The Home Depot

vs

SANBORN® 60 Gallon Oil Lubricated Belt Drive Air Compressor | Princess Auto

Harbor freight does not even exist in Canada so I cannot comment on any of their products. But yes, even just judging by the photos of the harbour freight one posted and the ones that me and UrbanSmoker were comparing, they are no in any way affiliated with each other.

I can see the way I worded it being confusing though. Hope this clears things up.

Joel

P.S. Urban check this out for $900 or so http://www.princessauto.com/pal/en/...r-Hi-Flo-Low-Profile-Air-Compressor/8475006.p

20.6CFM @ 40PSI and 18.1 @ 90. Excellent numbers for the price!

I saw that one but i havent heard ofnthat name before. I'll prob just end up with dewalt cause it's around the corner, a good name, that ive had experience with in the states. And has a good warranty. Fwiw, harbor freight is basically chineese tools, they jabe cheap stuff but it will always come down to you get what you pay for, i have never been to princess auto butthey sponsored my college. I just dunno LOL. I am wondering If it's the same deal as harbor freight...

Yeah, I have a water/oil separator. I'm painting one or two panels at a time, this should be more than enough. I just did an entire hood with an 8 gallon compressor (although I DON'T recommend it, it was a huge pain in the ass). Here's a link to the hood I just did:
