I just installed a SharpHID DDM 9006 5000K HID kit in my Eclipse (stock headlight housings). Everything installed according to plan - I used the "accessory wiring harness" that Sharp offers (a must in my mind and for the price, you can make a wiring harness like this). Anyway, I took the car out tonight to aim the HIDs and I notice that the passenger side shoots light like a beam – sorta as if you were aiming a flashlight down the street. The drivers side aims more like a "fan or V like shape" spreading light across the road. Combined, you can definitely tell the difference and it seems the passenger side beam over powers the driver’s side “fan –V like shape. Now I know that since I’m using the OEM headlight housings, I’ll never get them perfect (like OEM Mini Coopers), but what can be done to make them almost identical?

Also, anyone else out there with HIDs…. do you notice that the ballasts like to make some noise? Like a humming sound?

Thoughts?

I have the sharphid 35w 5000k set with their kit and mine makes a humming noise too. No worries there. As for the aiming, I bet the bulb isn't flush against the headlight housing. Try to go back and readjust it. As for aiming the headlights, there are two plastic gear things on each headlight. Use a phillips head to turn the gears. One adjusts left/right and the other up/down.

I thought about the bulb not being flush against the housing so I double checked the passenger side. I noticed that these bulbs do not fit 100% super snug compared to the old regular 9006 bulbs I had in there before. It seems the rubber O-Ring is a little bigger than it should be? What should be the correct pattern - a beam of light or a fan-Vshape type light?

I'm aware of the up/down gear and the left/right gear but my left/right gear doesn't seem to do much?

Do you have the lights in the proper housing part? IIRC 9005 are high's and 9006 are lows.

Yeap. The 9006 HIDs are in the two outside housings (low beams) and the the 9005 (high beams) are still stock bulbs. All wired up properly and the high beam switch still works, so everything is fine

I have the 9000k set up what I had to do was drill a bigger hole for the light to sit on going threw the cap, once done I resealed the cap and harnessed it they worked perfectly try that.
