Hello
what we have here is a Rebuilt rs49t Turbo, and a AGP turbo Oil Feed Line For this turbo.

What i Got in the mail was the Line, a L fitting for the turbo side, And the fitting for the oil filter Housing.

There is already a fitting installed on the turbo (by agp) that seems to be a pressure reducer. See Pic

the problem is, it is impossible to use the L Fitting. it will hit either the turbin housing flange, or the compressor housing preventing threading it in.

Why would AGP send me something I cant use? Or an i missing someting,

you are going to have to take off the housings and screw it in and then assembly it again. Or if you don't want to do that send it back and I am sure AGP will do it for you.

You have to clock the housing. You will want to do the exhaust side first. There are 5 or 6 bolts on the exhaust side that you will want to loosen up. They are not the bolts in the middle of the center cartridge but the bolts that hold the exhaust housing. Loosen them up and you can turn the center cartridge, then put the 90 degree fitting on. You will also want to match up your return line before tightening the bolts back down. Once you do that go ahead and install the turbo onto the manifold. Then loosen the bolts on the compressor housing that the 90 degree fitting is hitting against and turn it so it matches up with your intercooler piping. Then tighten the bolts back down and you are done.:thumb:

^^^ Excellent idea

Just loosening all the bolts will allow "cockign" of each housign independently of the other. Will definitely find this handy during install to clearance the outlet, waterpipe, fan..etc :dsm:

This seems like a Horrible way to send an oil feed line to a customer

Here buddy, you have to tear the bich apart, put it all back together, voiding your warranty at the same time.

Why Not just get a Straight Fitting.

Dude, you dont' have to take it apart. It is 5 or 6 screws that you have to loosen up and just turn the center cartridge. It takes about 2 minutes. And if you used a straight fitting it would run right into your manifold and would fry your oil line.

Agreed. It took me about 2 minutes as well.

ok, but you say wait til i am mouting it to the car.
This will be a few weeks. though..

Just seems poor to have to have such a complicated install. ohwell.

Nothing in the dsm world is easy, haha.

Yea, you can go ahead and clock it on the exhaust side and get the 90 degree fitting on but you will have to reclock it again to match up your oil return lines going to the oil pan when it's on the manifold. I would just wait. The reason AGP sends it to you that way is because you have to clock the turbo either way to get your feed/return line matched up.

haha, i had a few mins before work so i went ahead and gave it a try, loosed those bolts.... suprising how easy they are to loosen, and then suprised at how easy it clocks.

fitting is in, and its all back together i used paint dots to keep the alignment where it was, and its all ready to roll. haha....

Why didnt i think of that. this is what tuners are for.... dude needs a few rep points i feel.

:thumb: That's what I'm talkin about. Glad you got it to work. You will have to do it again when you get it on the manifold to match up your oil return line and then do the same thing on the compressor housing and it will turn to match up to your intercooler piping. Glad I could help ya out as I ran into the same problem on my RS60T.

I have 2 oil returns, they are both SS braided, one is about 2 inches Longer Than the Other.

identical line and connectors Tho.

;)

I got the Rs49t from AGP with their instal kit.

The 90* fitting is for the Oil filter housing and the banjo fitting goes to the turbo.

Then again, mine didn't come with the pressure reducer. I bought mine last July.
