I have been doing some research on different comparable 50 Trims. I have already started to buy supporting mods and saving up some more cash for a SBR FMIC. And I have been leaning toward the AGP RS49.

Just wondering if anyone is running this turbo? Or if there is any flow graphs and etc for it. Any more info will be great.

Thanks.

get a flow chart for a 50trim, and theyres the agp rs49. Its your average 50trim setup.

I have one had it running since about september.I got it last year but only installed it this year.Car was in hibernation for a bit.I got the internal gate.I have evo exhuast manifold and evo o2 housing not ported .I have apexi n1 catback and downpipe no cat.I see no creep and not sure how but seem to be able to run the thing as low as 10 psi which is were I have it currently due to my still stock sidemount intercooler.I did put in fuel support and have supra tt pump,FIC 650 injectors ,full throttle afpr.I have ordered water/alco dual stage injection also but its not installed.I have hks cams but not installed.
I still need to get a nice fmic but am taking my time deciding on one.

I just had a dumbo with shelby turbo tell me that my turbo can't put out at any more than 10psi as its max efficiency according to him and the 50 trim compressor map is at 10psi.I think his math is bad or something as everyone says they put out best from 20 to think 27 or so psi.I know they can make good power.I think it spools up pretty quick and find it very streetable and top end feels great and even at 10psi and shot clutch timed the car at 14.3 at 100.3 with a 2.26 60ft.That may not seem great but its decent at my altitude 2000 above sea level and that was best 60ft the clutch would let me get and sure losing some mph too from it.I have 2600 to install shortly.

Anyway I think I am happy with it.I sometimes wonder if the cheaper evo big 16 might be a bit better around town but when that 50 trim spools up and did have it briefly at 15psi I start to smile and think I made the right choice. :)

I aso run the AGP RS49. Very beefy turbine housing with quick part throttle boost. I am just finishing up a spearco 2-221 FMIC and I run 660cc injectors. I have a wideband and scanmaster for tuning. I also have the internal gate and the AGP oil feed and drain lines which are also beefy units. Be sure to get a good fMIC. Mark

I quickly found a list of people who have this turbo by clicking on Site Members > Search Members > Advanced Search > then searched the term "RS49" in the Speed Mods field (this searches all members who have "RS49" in their mods list):
http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/memberlist.php?do=search

It returned like 10-15 members. This might help you get in contact with some folks who have the turbo.

Thats a damn good idea, I never thought of doing something like that.

I'd have to say, i never really took the chance to search using advance mode, but this site has got to have one of the better search engines than most other car sites. :thumb:

I had the AGP RS49 (50 trim) with Internal wastegate on my 1997 GS-T and I loved it !
I dynoed 330whp @ 20 psi on pump gas (93 octane) with only 3 pulls on the dyno never got around to a full hour's worth of tunning !
I ran a 13.0@116mph with it still at 20psi and still on pump gas and on street tires here's what all I had done

AGP RS49
Ported 2g ex. manifold
RNR 3" 02 Eliminator Down pipe with external dump
3" AHP Thermal Exhaust
PTE 680 cc injectors
Apexi S -AFC 1
B & M FPR
Walboro 255HP Fuel Pump
Magnecore 8.5 mm plug wires
NGK Plugs
RRE Griffin Front mount intercooler 20x10x3 custom 2.5 inch pipe
ACT 2600
Fidanza 8lb Flywheel
2g Eprom ECU with TMO stage 3 chip

Motor Was completely Stock( 7 BOLT )
Stock cams
Stock cam gears
Stock Throttle Body
Stock intake Manifold
Stock Rods/ Pistons

Was a very very awsome turbo I will buy again from AGP once I am done might go with the RS60 or RS65 this time good luck and I hope I helped !

how is the streetability of this turbo system??
I'm also considering this turbo, but my GSX would remain a street car too... Any good or should I look for something smaller? like an EvoIII 16G?

Phil the RS49 is very streetable however it requires more supporting mods. I went from an EVO 16G to the RS49. The EVO would be fine with a small FMIC like the dejon street IC and not require a bigger IC which would mean cutting the bumper. The 16g can get by on 550's but the 50 trim needs 660's minimum which means more tuning.
Check out the forum with 1/4 mile times and see what guys with your goals are running. The 50 trim also means modding water lines, losing the stock AC fan, etc. Mark

Like Sweet97 says its very streetable. At least I think so.I went from a hurting 14b right to the 50 trim.As he said you should have the right mods..660s,good front mount..I do sometimes think the evo would have been a bit more fun since it boosts lower in the range but the 50 trim is not bad even at 10psi or so which is where I am running till I get a good fmic on my car.It does have lots of top end though and that makes it a sweet highway star.
Anyway I guess have to wait to see what this bad boy is capable of once can run it at 20psi or so around town on pump.
