aftermarket turbo manifold

alright guys so this is the deal, I finally bought an aftermarket exhaust mani. today i woke up and desided to bolt it on, i then realized that on my stock 2g mani theres is a sensor on the right top side of the mani.

2 questions: What is that sensor? and do i HAVE to drill a hole and weld a sensor nut in my aftermarket mani? or is that sensor not too important?

It's probably an EGT sensor. You don't really need it if you have a wideband, but some people like to have it as an alternative. It's used to monitor the temps of the cylinder to see if your running lean/rich. If you really feel like it you can tap your new manifold and reinstall the sensor. If it was me I would leave it off and get a wideband if I didn't have one. Hope this helps.

oo okay then perfect, i already have a wide band, i figured that u dont need it cause all the pics ive seen on aftermarket mani's ive never seen that sensor on it.
and i got a tubular mani

Does your car have a egt gauge in it? That sensor isn't something that comes stock on the car. If you don't have the gauge than you don't have any need for it. If you still have the gauge i would consider welding a bung on the tubular manifold and keep the egt.

Why did you get an aftermarket manifold?

What brand is it?

your better off selling the aftermarket manifold. port out the stock manifold.

Or u can keep what u just sent money on, port the stock and sell the gauge and the mani and the sensor as a package, and hopefully make some money back and be happy with what you bought, because you obviously wanted it more than the stocker
