Aftermarket Intake, MAF Problem

ok i have a 1g nt and i just got a short ram intake for it, my problem is that the stock maf doesnt fit in the pipe obviously and the only other thign i know to do is buy a gm maf and a maf translator but those go in the ic piping as far as i know and i have no turbo so my question is is there some way to by-pass the maf and kill the check light and get it to idle normal again or is there a part to buy?

You need your MAF. Buy a coupler or hook it up some other way. It's entirely necessary if you want your car to run even close to normal.

Your going to have to ghetto rig it up, just like I did to mine. You really don't get any performance but it makes your car sound mean as hell.

thanks man but i just thought of something so if i make a y-pipe to come off the aftermarket pipe and put both filters on think itd work or does the maf need all air going to it

it needs all air going into it, otherwise your gonna have problems.

The MAF measures ALL of the air going in to your engine so that it knows how much fuel to inject (among other things). If you disconnect it, reroute air, or otherwise hamper it's ability to do it's job you will f*ck sh*t up. End of story.

Why not just buy the two couplers and put it on right. Like Cowboy said if you don't get all the air running thru your MAF your cars going to run like $hit.

u cant have leaks if u r using a MAF
if u do, the air will not be calculated on ## ecu and u will be running LEAN

i dont tink u need to be using a MAFT , the stock maf will be more than enough for a N/A
