i have a 1st gen talon and i know that the MAF sensor is in the actual intake piping rather than the intake manifold like my old b16 had, and i was wondering if when you buy and aftermarket intake does it come with a better MAF or do i use the old one?

the intake pipe wont come with a new MAF..you have to keep your stock one. what you can do is attach the MAF to the aftermarket intake pipe an it will work just fine. also if you want to get rid of your MAF in your intake pipe..get a MAF translater and GM MAF..then you can put that in your uicp as a blow through set-up. do a little searching. this site has a lot of great information about this topic..check the tech guide also and vfaq.com has alot of great information on intakes and pretty much everything DSM...good luck

how much do you think those will cost because at teh current moment im on an extremely tight budget of about 320 per month, and i want to get this car built quick.

MAF translater usually goes for 200 bucks. and you can go to the junkyard and find a GM MAF for cheap. but the great thing about making this into a blow through set-up is better spool-up and you can vent. MAF translater theres the link.

at the moment i have a NA DSM and i dont plan on putting a turbo on until most of the rest of the car is modified, so do i really need to make it blow through or can i stick with the stock MAF for now?
