Aftermarket Halos to OEM wiring questions

Hey guys I am new to the DSM world and my first mod I wanted to do was take the ebay lights off the car I bought and replace them with the OEM stockers. I dont know much about wiring so I went with what I thought would be right.

The guy before more cut the stock harness off to splice the wires together to match up to the bulbs. There were...

Pass Side:

Black/Green/Red

Driver Side:

Red/Red wiith blue striple/Black


I did the passanger side first. I cut the stock plug and spliced the wires together matching all the colors and headlight worked. I thought ok great no probs.

I went to do the drivers side and thats where I got a bit confused. I matched the black to black but wasnt sure about the red and red with blue stripe. I put the Red with Red and red with blue stripe to green.

The headlights turn on and work. The DRIVER high beam does not turn on (could be bulb but didnt test that yet but prob my wiring) ALSO in the car when you turn the lights on, on the Gauge Face...The High Beam Light is 1/2 lit. Before it wasnt lit at all. If I turn the highs on it will light up all the way blue but in the off position it is half lit.

I forgot to take pics while doing it so I can try to help out with more info but hopefully I just need to switch a few wires..

you can do it the easy way or the right way.. ohm out the wires when you flip the high beams on, or just twist the wires together in different combinations till you get it right.. Of course just trying different configurations without ohming runs the risk of blowing a fuse or something. gl. I have the exact same problem with my car and jinky wiring from the previous owner so I may be able to help with some pics.

Do yourselft a favor and invest in a shop manual for your car if you intend to keep it any length of time. The wiring diagrams in the back will help you get the wiring straight. Or use the AllDataDIY Site as a source of troubleshooting flow charts, factory diagrams, service and repair procedures, wiring diagrams, TSB's, etc...
