Im looking for a source to tap my gauge illumination wire. where is the best place to tap for that? what color wire do I splice in to the dimmer switch? also can i just wire it into a 12v source so I dont have the option of dimming?

Yes you can go to a 12V source, just make sure its is a switched 12V circuit so that when you turn the car off the light will also go out. Most people I know tap into the fuse panel under the dash at your feet.

What line exactly is the best to tap? I'm looking for a line to tap into for my wideband and oil guage that will be mounted in the vent above the heat controls using a bezel.
