How much hp can stock front cv shafts support? Does anyone make beefier ones? Thanks!

If you want beefier axles call Brian at Terhune race works Terhune Race Works (Website currently under development). The only other option is probably drive shaft shop. The stock axles can handle a lot, but this also depends on the driver and how the car is driven/launched.

Drive Shaft Shop axles are very reputable and many people on this site have used them with great success. However, the stock axles will likely be sufficient for your build.

There was also a pair of fidanza shafts on there, another rep. company although most people run driveshaft shop.

I have heard good things about DSS axles, but they are a little expensive. OEM axles have help 600+whp IF you dont launch the car super hard.

Or just buy a set of good, HARD tires. they will break free before snapping drive train components

Yes I was refering to the fidanza shafts. DSS ones are a bit out of my price range. The fidanzas being just a little bit more than OEM. Is anyone running these or would they be worth trying? HP goal is def in the 600 range as I believe I'm around 450 right now. And occational launching is also on my list

Harder tires also sound like a pretty good idea. Brand?

Got a link to the Fidanza axles? I was under the impression that they were discontinued. And I believe TH doesn't actually stock anything.

The OEM axles are remarkably stong in an AWD application. I've been pushing over 400 WHP for many years and I've never toasted one. Avoid wheen hop and they'll live a long time.

I confirmed with Fidanza that these have been discontinued since late 2010. I guarantee that TH doesn't have them in stock too. The statement on their website "In stock or ships from manufacturer" can be directly translated to "Our warehouse supplier might have them, otherwise will ship from manufacturer".

And I highly doubt there is any warehouse still sitting on a pair of these after 2.5 years. All warehouses cycle product out long before that amount of time.

DSS axles are pricey but man are they worth it! 600hp+ rating and they mean it! My buddy has a 622hp eclipse and he tracks it twice a week about 4 runs per night...and they handle extremely well he's had them for over a year now and not even a bust boot yet knock on wood! But yea DSS is the way to go at least IMO
