Just installed new kelford 272 and when installing new hks adjustable cam gear the sensor behind the cams hit the gear?

95-96 intake cam sensor I'm guessing. Stock cams have a trigger plate behind the gear on the 2G head.

Makes for a clean look, but aftermarket cam gears may not be setup to accommodate this. 95-96 heads are the only one that ran this way. 97-99 the sensor is on the other end of the CAM, and the signal from the sensor is "inverted". There is a feature in ECM-Link to "invert" the cam sensor signal so you can run 1G and 97-99 sensors, or a 95-96 sensor.

My aftermarket cam cogs have a provision for the 95'-96' cam sensor on the rear of them, I am guessing that the HKS is not back cut for that plate and is not leaving enough clearance for even the sensor, if that the case the solution is to remove the cam sensor and switch to the 1g or 99' style, or find a different brand of cam cogs or have the HKS cut on a lathe to allow clearance. Are you running REAL HKS cogs or are they a knockoff HKS cog? there are many many knockoffs out there.

If you really want to use these gears you will need to switch to a 1g or 2gb style CAS. If looking to buy these parts new MD327621 is no longer available. I had to get mine from Japan. You'll be able to buy a harness adapter to make this plug and play. The intake cam will need to be drilled and tapped. You'll also need DSMLink to tell the ECU that you're using this sensor. The other option is to get a set of gears that don't have this issue. I think the HKS gears are sexy as hell and I would make them work and show them off. I'd also degree the cams to justify their existence.

They are real hks cam gear I just finished decreeing my cam then started the final assembly and notice my sensor was broken. Thanks everyone on this thread I will look for a 1g or 97-99 sensor and use link signal

I bought a used MD327621 from a fellow DSM'r on this site. The housing and the trigger are hard to come by, and will cost, but the sensor is less than a Jackson.
