My old tranny in my 90 TSI AWD 5-speed Talon went ( though I didn't know it and thought it was my xfer case so I turned it into them for the xfer case recall). They told me it was actually my tranny so even though it was consuming I let them do it. They put in another 90 AWD TSI talon tranny with 100k miles on it.

Everything is running fine except for the fact that when I move my shifter left it is blocked by some sort of wall. It won't go left at all. To go into first and second I basically just move it up instead of left and up or left and down. Even with the busted tranny it hadn't did this so I'm guessing they didn't allign something correctly?

What other reasons could there be for why it is so hard to get in gear? It feels like the entire unit was moved and 1st and 2nd are grinding alot if I try hard to get into gear. 2nd is barely even there it seems as when I put it in gear it doesn't go all the way down, just stays in about 1/2-3/4 the way there. Any comments or suggestions would GREATLY be appreciated. :thumb: :talon:

Also, this didn't happen until they did the swap so is this something they could fix due to the fact that it was fine before the swap? Even with the busted trans it still went into gear better than this LOL. :|

How time and most importantly money consuming is changing a shift fork?

E-mail John Shepherd he'll tell you exactly what it should be. Time/Cost
He can also tell you by your description what could be wrong with the tranny.

I'm going to give the dealership a call today. Do you think they will fix it since it didn't happen until they put the new tranny in or is the problem comming from the new transmission itself and not something wrong with the install?
