Ok I just replaced my cheap fake ebay greddy with a real one, I noticed that I only boost up to 12 psi now? Could it just be that it is holding the boost better and I need to turn it up more. and 4th gear doesnt boost up as fast either. I dont know if that would be a boost leak though. It feels as fast as it did when I first got it before I turned it up to 15-16 psi.

Perform a proper boost leak test at a psi that's higher than what you'll be running. If you find any leakage at the BOV, try adjusting the top nut to hold more boost. Remember that if overtighten it you'll run into compressor surge so tighten in small increments and keep re-testing until it stops while holding 20 psi (or a little bit more than what you'll be running daily). If you find no boost leaks and the BOV is holding well, then you may need to play with the MBC a bit, but I don't think this is your problem.

Keep us posted,

Andy

Ok, After messing around with it, I noticed that Where you put the hardening and softening bolt in was stripped. That obviously isnt good, therefore I think it was nearly all the way on soft or maybe not even doing anything. So that would cause a definite boost leak then wouldnt it? I replaced the top half of the fake greddy and put it on the real one( I swear to god there was no difference in the two they where identical, the springs had the same stiffness, whats up with them not being reliable then?). Its dark out now so i cant ttry it out but do you guys thank that part being stripped would cause a boost leak. Would a boost leak cause it to spool up really slow in 4th gear also?

Yes, having the softest setting will cause the BOV to open under boost, which like you said is a massive leak. The ebay BOVs sometimes are of identical manufacture to the name brand ones... just without the name brand stamped on them. Go ahead and swap the tops and use it. If it works, you're golden. Be sure to do a boost leak test also.

From the factory, the BOV's are adjusted to the softest settings... so yes, you have to adjust it accordingly to your setup, you know, your mods, turbo, how much boost you are pushing, etc... will have an cause and effect tuning adjustments.... A buddy of mine had a similar setup, and his settings were a lot different than mine, mine was almost all the way hard, and his was in the middle somewhere, so take that into consideration. Hope it works out...

Ok i just put back on my bov with the fake top half and its runs like a raped ape now. There had to have been a small leak in the other one because I defiantly feel a difference.
