I had replaced my head gasket, along with all the usual parts. (Water pump, T. belt, tensioners) Ever since I have got it done, It idles fine, untill I hit the gas. THen it will bog down and stall, sometimes it will catch its self, but mostly, it will just stall.
I have since replaced the spark plugs again, and Coil pack, wires and Fuel filter, Cleaned my TB, and IAC passage. Double checked timing, and made sure all the vac lines are correct.
I took it to auto zone and get a Multiple Misfire code. And I have a Check engine light that read 31, Evap system fault. I pulled my plugs just now, and they show signs that I am running rich! I'm out of ideas and now pretty broke to take it to the shop and get it looked at. Any have any ideas?
Any help would be great!
Thanx in advance,
Matt

Have you looked at the O2 sensor, could be going bad.

well, i think if its misfiring, then it might be that the timing belt is off a little bit. I did my timing belt several, several months ago, and it thru a CEL and it read that it was misfiring, which i think means its off a tooth.

thats what I am gonna have to check, the timing belt. It seems to be the most likely reason. I am just gonna hate rippin that apart again!! Gotta do what I gotta do.

I have replaced the downstream 02 sensor. and the Up stream was replaced est a year ago. So far no codes relating to them

Eclipsionz23,
The biggest bastard of the install is the motor mount bracket the bolts to the motor. The bolts are about 4 inches long, and you have about 1 1/2 of room! Just besure to remove the lower motor mount/under brace so you can move the engine up or down. Took two people to get it back in! One with a pry bar and the other tryin to get that damn bolt back.

Good luck with your R&R!

Well, I took my car to a friends shop and found that the timing belt skipped 2 teeth. The one part I did not replace, the tensioner, went bad. So we set her back in time and got a new tensioner, and she's runs like a champ!
Now to get my exhaust a lil more quiet and all will be good!!
Thanx for all that helped!!

Matt

my car is also misfiring and I think it my also be my t-belt, I have'nt gotten into it yet but how do you know if the tensioner is bad? I did'nt have it replaced when the t-belt was done 40,000 miles ago.

Mine exploded pretty much, fluid was everywhere.
But if you can push it in too easily its bad. I think its a good idea to get a new one with every T-belt. After all that I went through to get it right! Its worth it!
