...I finally get it back on SUNDAY!!!! I am really excited, the transfer case went so I had the local Mitsu dealer do the work. It didn't qualify for the recall, unfortunately, but I got a 20% discount on parts for being in various DSM organizations. I've never been this long without being able to drive my baby, so it will be such a happy reunion.

Anyways, just thought I would share my joy. Hopefully you others with broken DSM's can get them back on the road soon.

why not? isn't the recall good for as long as the car is on the road?

My guess is that there was something else wrong with the case that wasnt covered by the recall. The recall is good as long as the car is on the road, by law.

...with that said, I was also going to ask why it wasnt covered by recall.

Well, I was told the reason for the failure of the T/C was not a faulty seal. I believe the recall is only for failure due to that seal failing and fluid leaking. I may be wrong though.

No way I am treating her bad, don't want to break anything else!!!
