hey guys, im a turbo guy but my buddy has a 420a that im building a motor for him to turbo and he was wondering if AEM makes a standalone for the
420a motor and where to get one for a decent price he wants to be under a grand doesnt matter if its used. If you have one pm me with a price. thanx

get megasquirt or the newer version of it (forget the name) but if you don't like the idea of those, DON"
T Get AEM, you'll have a bi*** of a time learning to tune it as they make it harder on purpose ( i know from knowing one of the engineers that sold them the rights to the GEMS unit which became the AEM)

they name things weid odd names and instead of true readings for injector pulse and so forth they use the old 0 - 255 code and everything else is just a PITA.. go haltech if you want something that you can wire and learn to tune with just what's given to you when you buy iut... get AEM if you want to take a few classses and bi*** and curse for hours on end.. we call the plug n play the "plug-n-tug" LOL

I know you probably know this, but AEM doesn't even make a plug-and-play version of its EMS for the 420A DSM. Megasquirt really is the only viable tuning option that doesn't cost an arm and a leg and that doesn't require extensive fabrication during installation.

yea, i forgot they don't make one for the N/T cars, some people are afraid of mega squirt ( i use to be one of them) but after 5 cars that's i've personally tuned with MS units i can firmly say they are great units!

only plug n play version for the 420a is the AFX ecu, but its not recommended for turbo applications due to the timing advances
