AEM Wideband install question

Alright I have been searching around for a little while about installing my aem wideband on my 98 gst, i am installing my 16g and all today and was wondering about the wideband O2 sensor wiring, can I just cut the wire off the secondary O2 sensor and wire it into the wideband? or can anyone suggest a way to wire up the O2 sensor? Thanks. Or do I not have to worry about this since im not running dsm link or anything?

if you plan on turning up the boost and running a bigger fuel system your going to definitely want to put in the wideband sensor. if you were running dsmlink you could remove the rear o2 sensor and plug in the wb in its place. since your not running dsmlink unfortunately for you the install won't be that easy. you need to run the wb o2 sensor approximately 36" down from the turbo, so on the downpipe BEFORE the catalytic converter. to do this a shop or you if you can weld, need to weld up a o2 sensor bung.
wiring all depends on what type of wb your running, what is it?

its the AEM wideband with a bosh sensor, im going in a bit to get the bung welded on, i was prepared for that but not sure what to do on the wiring, I am also installing the 16g and fuel system today as well, im also running a gm maf and maft

was also looking at my instructions and it says to install it to a 0-5v power source, where should i install the white wire and the blue wire says serial output, and red says 12v, were is the best places to hook all this up at?

Just wire up the red wire off a piggyback fuse and put the black on a ground somewhere. That's all you need. The blue and white are for output/logging I believe.

i wired mine into the cigarette lighter. works great. i would still take out the rear o2 though and use its location for the new sensor.

Don't you need the rear o2 sensor for the ecu? It would throw a cel if you replace it and not have a nb signal to go to the ecu.

when you take the white wire and wire it to pin 75 it still reads an o2 sensor

Yes, although 0-5v wideband signal, instead of the factory 0-1v narrow band signal.
