today i bought a AEM uego wideband used from a friend of a friend. inbetween the actual O2sensor and the qauge is a little brain box lookin thing that says AEM uego 2 channel controller. right by this "controller" there is a homemade splice job. (im pretty sure its homemade) and there is a factory lookin O2sensor pig tail coming outa this. this guy told me that the only o2sensor i need is the AEM wide band one. the factory narrow band is no longer used and i just plug the O2sensor signal wire that comes out of the mitsu engine wire harness into the splice job. and that the 2channel little brain box converts the wide band into a useable signal for the factory ecu to read. and that doin it this way eliminates the need to have a extra bung and o2sensor installed in the system

is this true? ive never hear of this. ive never seen or heard of the two channel brain box deal that is inbetween the sensor and the harness. i think that the factory narrow band one should still be in there and hooked up to the engine harness as normal and that the wide band gets installed with a weld in bung and that the wide band just talks to the gauge for me to read and tune off of. but this guy tells me no narrow band 4 wire o2sensor is needed. only the wide band sensor is used, and the 2channel thing converts it to a usable signal for the ecu.

that this one wide band sensor is gonna talk to the ecu and the gauge? is this true? i watched the Official AEM wide band install on you tube. it has that steph papadakis guy doing all the talking and a 2channel device was never mentioned. anyone know about this?

i have never heard of it either i had one installed on my ford focus.and ran the factory one as well.

i would be safe and run the AEM and the stock 02 seperate. its what i am going to do with my wideband i have.

just my opinion

second paragraph towards the end, after the word narrow band 4 wire o2sensor that should read "isnt" not is, or it dont make sense. sorry. and any help would be awsome thanks

donnie, could you please explain a little further please? is this two channel deal specifically meant to do this? so it is possible for the wide band to simulate the stock signal for the ecu to read? is this a more acurate reading for my ecu to see? i kinda assumed that the two channle brain box deal was a optional imput for the AEM EMS. this guy that i got it from was also running the EMS. which i have the option to buy but im not sure if a full stand alone is worth it. all i here is that dsmlink is best.

One of the analog outputs is configurable to send a 0-1v signal based on afr. Download the manual from aem and see how to do it with your specific model. Even the single channel uego gauge controller has this feature. Some units are programmable so that you can cycle in closed loop around a different afr.
