I recently rebuilt my dsm and had it running pretty good. Then my fidanza adjustable cam gears slipped and retarded both cams 12 degrees. We saw the problem and replaced the cam gears with the stock ones, but now when we start the car it'll run good about 3k and runs really rough below 3k. It also will no longer idle and the rpms jump all over below 3k. We checked the ignition timing, the coil packs, spark plugs and timing belt marks and we can't find anything wrong. If anyone can think of anything helpful that would be great, thanks. Look at my profile for a mod list (It's pretty long).

The best advice I can give you is to get on the AEM boards and talk to those guys over there. If it IS something AEM related they will be able to spot it right away. Make sure you do a log of your car too. Have you tried doing a comp test after the timing was retarded?

I have already posted on the aem board and am still waiting for a reply, but the car ran fine before the cam gear swap. The compression was still very good.

I seemed to have fixed the problem, but I still can't tell what it was. I reloaded the base calibration file and setup the sensors, injectors and fuel pressure and the car started right up and ran better than it did before.
